Rae Jean Shore is the owner and founder of Liberty Legal, A Professional Family Law Corporation. She has been in the legal profession for more than twenty years, having first worked as a legal secretary in 1983. She quickly worked her way up to becoming a paralegal before attending Santa Barbara College of Law. While working full time at a local law firm, Ms. Shore completed law school in the evenings to fulfill her dream of becoming an attorney.

Ms. Shore worked as an associate attorney for a local law firm until 1998 when she left to experience the freedom of working for herself. From 1998 to 2013, Ms. Shore operated a private legal practice, concentrating on family and domestic violence matters.

In January of 2014, Liberty Legal registered as a professional family law corporation and opened its doors to assisting clients and self-represented individuals in all matters of California family law.


Ms. Shore received her undergraduate degree with a pre-law concentration from California Polytechnic State University in 1983. She went on to study at Santa Barbara College of Law where she earned her Juris Doctorate in 1992. Ms. Shore stays abreast of current legal trends and participates in ongoing legal education courses.


1993 – present: California State Bar Association in good standing, never having any disciplinary actions.

Leadership & Instructional Experience

Ms. Shore has served on numerous boards of directors, including for the San Luis Obispo Legal Alternative Corporation. She also served as president of the San Luis Obispo County Bar Association’s Family Law Section from 2004 to 2006.

Ms. Shore was invited to teach family law courses for paralegals through California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo for two academic years. One of the major components of her teaching position involved teaching paralegals how to properly fill out important legal documents, a service that she now provides to self-represented clients.
